Revitalizing GlobalMeet for Competitive Growth
Background:
PGi was looking to transform itself as a company and expand beyond the audio conferencing space it was competing in. The profits on audio minutes were compressing and the company was looking for growth opportunities in online collaboration. PGi began reselling partner web conferencing and paring it with their audio services. While this was creating growth, it was clear that the revenue could be even more lucrative if PGi was developing and selling their own collaboration software. They acquired small companies that had technologies and services that would give them a head start. However, they lacked the creative design expertise that would be necessary to be successful.
Business Challenge:
GlobalMeet needed to modernize its user interface and overall user experience to remain competitive in the evolving collaboration space. The existing interface, though functional, was dated and lacked the intuitiveness required to meet the expectations of today's users. As the market for online collaboration grew, it became clear that users demanded a more seamless, efficient, and visually appealing platform. To stay competitive, GlobalMeet had to enhance usability, streamline workflows, and update the design to ensure it met the needs of modern professionals. This transformation aimed to not only improve user satisfaction but also to strengthen the platform’s position in a crowded market.
The Result:
GlobalMeet development costs were reduced by having the Product Design team take over for the agency contractors that were being budgeted for. The combined experience and shared knowledge gained by supporting both products resulted in an improved user experience. Adopting the same design and delivery methods increased velocity and improved our ability to advance the products roadmap.
